Finally posted the rest of the pics so be sure to check those out.  So, these now include the afternoon in Cades Cove following the Gregory Bald trip, the 2-night Lynn Camp Prong trip (aka “The Jungle Hike”), the afternoon at the Mountain Farm Museum in Oconaluftee and the short trip to Deep Creek.  Not the greatest shots but we’re learning.

So, what’s next you ask?  We’ll be back in the park in October.  Not sure for how long yet but there’s still time to get that all lined out.  Loonie and I are tossing around some ideas for some shorter trips closer to home between now and then.  Maybe Garden of the Gods and Lusk Creek Wilderness in southern Illinois.  That would be totally cool but we would need to work out the logistics as that would probably be a three day point-to-point hike on the River to River Trail.  We’ll see.

Lastly, it turns out we did get a bear pic after all, though its not exactly the kind we were after!
